TECHNOLOGICAL SOLUTIONS FOR THE FUTURE

Bodø municipality, with its innovation lab Linken, is testing new technological solutions and assessing utility and benefits based on the municipality's current and future needs. They have implemented CTD Health to provide employees in nursing homes and home care with quantity training in clinical observation and assessment competence (ABCDE and NEWS2). Feedback from employees indicates that the training is relevant, exciting, and of high professional quality. Below are comments from those who have undergone training:

"Will make it easier to enhance competence in the service. Training will be easier to do regularly and more often without affecting operations. SHOULD be implemented in the service. Fantastic that scenarios can be adapted to the services."

"Seems like a great tool for raising competence. Many do not dare to stand up in large groups in courses; this seems perfect so that everyone can practice without having to stand in front of a group for 'praise/criticism.' Have faith in this technology going forward."

"This was very good - and should always be available in home care. Then you can get quantity training, train anytime, and save a lot of resources..."

ORGANIZATION OF VR TRAINING

Good planning and anchoring have been key success factors for VR training in Bodø municipality. Superusers with mentoring responsibilities for VR training have played a crucial role in the good training outcome. They received thorough training from Connect the Dots before starting guidance. In addition, power users sent an email to department leaders in the municipality explaining what CTD Health is with an invitation to express interest in experimentation.

TESTET DIFFERENT FORMS OF VR TRAINING

Superusers tested various forms of VR-training:

  • Attendance at the innovation lab (Linken)
  • Training in their own department:
  • Drop-in
  • Booking training time

They report significantly greater participation when training was conducted in the departments. They further report that the good information sent out in advance about VR training led employees to talk to each other about VR training, creating significant interest in trying out the new way of learning. Departments agree with power users that the best way to train is in their own department.
